The Courage to Love

The Courage to Love (Brothers in Arms, #1)The Courage to Love by Samantha Kane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was a little confused in the beginning what time period this story was set in and then it seemed like the author kept jumping from character to another. Like I said I was confused, but that was only in the beginning.
After the first chapter everything started to make sense and I started to enjoy the story. The story is highly erotic and also very heartwarming and funny. I know it seems like those description probably shouldn't go hand in hand, but they fit.

The love that the heroes and heroine have for one another is very touching and the hot sex is just an added bonus.

If you don't like erotic romance then of course this isn't for you, but if you do this is definitely worth reading. Once I got past chapter 1 I couldn't put it down and I am looking forward to reading the remainder of this series.

Rees (Tales of the Shareem, #1)Rees by Allyson James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first book, by Allyson James, but it will not be my last. I loved the premise of this book a lady(Talen), is curious about the Shareem after reading another lady's diary. So she follows one(Rees)and the both feel a connection.

This book is highly erotic and it had the perfect measure of eroticism and romance. I don't think I have ever met a hero quite like Rees, but I am looking forward to learning more about Rio(secondary character and Rees friend).

Since I tend to babble(as you can see above), I will end this by saying that if you like erotic romance(and who doesn't,lol), you should definitely read this. You will not be disappointed in the least.

Under His InfluenceUnder His Influence by Justine Elyot

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I am sorry to say that I didn't like this book. I tried really hard to give it the benefit of the doubt, but to no avail.

When I first started reading it I thought it would be great. The scenes with Anna and John were really good. The first time I started to doubt that I would like it is when Anna called her friend MiMi. I thought then that she was bitch and I hope I want have to read many scenes with her in them.

After that it was ok, until the wedding. It basically went down hill from there.

There was not a character, save Anna and John(in the beginning), that I liked. I realized that Anna was very naive and had no self esteem and John was a heartless bastard, so after that no one stood out as a character I wouldn't to know or root for. Like I said the beginning had promise, but I soon realized that I would be disappointed.

When I first read the bar scene I thought that Anna would get a wonderful HEA. I figured that she would probably go through obstacles before she got there, but not to the extent of what she actually went through. I was expecting that maybe MiMi would break them up with her snooping or her job(or his) would be a hindrance, but never did I expect the kind of betrayal and lack of emotion that was a part of this plot.

Basically, I had to force myself to get to the end. If it weren't for the terrible relationship in this book it would have been better, but I ended up being disappointed and will probably never read another book by this author.

Dukes to the left of me, Princes to the right

I absolutely love Kieran Kramer. I am saying this after reading only 2 of her books, but she leaves me with such a good feeling when I am done. This is of course book 2 in the Impossible Bachelors series and it did not disappoint. I love that fact that the hero and heroines that she right are so perfect for one another and she always has me laughing out loud. At the end I finish the book and always wonder what is going to happen to every one else. The reason I say that is because all of the characters make an impression and you want to get to know them all.

In this book Lady Poppy has been getting tons of proposal of marriage, but she has her eye on one man in particular, so she makes of a story that she is on the verge of being proposed to by the Duke of Drummond. This way she can turn down the proposal without hurting anyone's feelings and save herself for the man she loves. Little does she know that the Duke of Drummond is indeed real and is about to make her made up story become a reality.

Anyway, if you like Historical Romance or have thought of trying it but haven't, this is the perfect series to get you started.

Rapunzel by Paul O. Zelinsky

Now this is the version of Rapunzel that I grew up on. This is the one that I most wanted to share with my daughters. The only thing that they know about this particular fairytale is what Disney did with Tangled (which we all love).

Eclectic Reader Challenge 2012

The object of this challenge is to read 12 books from 12 different genres. This will be a challenge indeed, because I usually read the same kinds of books over and over. It will definitely have me going outside the box and more than likely make me a little uncomfortable, but that is why I like it. Maybe, just maybe I will find something in those other genres that I really like if not at least I can say I tried.

Birth Year Reading Challenge

Ok, this one is a great one in my opinion. My birth year is 1979 and I hadn't gave much thought to the books that were published that year until now. You would think as many books that I own and as much as I love to read that I would have thought to check this out sooner, but it never came to me. That is until I found this challenge. If you would like more info and would like to join click here.

2012 Rainbow Reading Challenge

Another reading challenge that has to do with colors. The good thing is I can use books from each challenge to reach my goals. I love reading challenges, as you can probably tell. My favorite thing about this one is that you can do variations on the main color, because lets face it there are different shades of every color. This challenge gives you more room to be able to find a book that you may actually be interested in.

For more info and to join go here.

*All books must be at least 200 pages, or the ebook equivalent.*

100 + books in a Year Challenge

Well, I read a lot, but I don't know if I have ever read this many books in a year, but I will definitely give it a go. To be fair I will only add books that I start from today forward even though I have read a few so far. I don't have a list up front to post because I don't usually know ahead of time what is going to catch my fancy. Yes, I have tons of books at home that I can read, but you never know.

To get more info and join this challenge go here.

January: I'll be reading book 2 in Kieran Kramer's Impossible Bachelors series Dukes to the Left of Me, Princes to the right. I finished book 1 When Harry met Molly yesterday and I am in love with all of the Bachelors and Ms. Kramer herself

Rogue Pirates Bride

I have been a fan of Shana Galen's for a while and she didn't disappoint with this book. I love strong, sexy heroes, but more than that I love to read equally strong heroines. This book fit the bill to a "t". I completed this book in one sitting and I wanted more.

It is so often that most women in historical romances are portrayed as being weaker than their male counterpoints. I am so relieved to see that Raven is just as strong as Bastien is both mentally and physically. She could have just as well been the pirate in the piece.

Anyway, if you are looking for passion, humor, and a man who has most definitely met his match in every way, then this is for you.

I absolutely loved it.

The Price of TemptationThe Price of Temptation by Lecia Cornwall

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I literally just finished this book and I am now in love with Lecia Cornwall. All, I want to know is where have you been all my life and are there other books that I have missed.

Ms. Cornwall, had me right from the beginning I love a book with romance and intrigue that also is very witty. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent reading with a smile on my face and laughing out loud at something someone side. All the while rooting for Evie and Sin and hoping that Phillip was dead and Creighton would hurry and be discovered. Evelyn is one of the strongest women that I have had the pleasure of reading about and Sinjon was very honorable and brave. I couldn't help thinking that I wished more men (especially mine) were more like him.

This book is definitely worth the time (which want be long, cause you want be able to put it down) it takes to read it. I am looking forward to reading anything that Ms. Cornwall has to say in the future. I hope there is more to this series(?), because I would love to know what happens to Caroline and William.

Just please leave Evelyn's horrid sisters out of it. They have put her through enough hell, I hope that know one else has to deal with them.

A Demon Does It Better (Demons #2)A Demon Does It Better by Linda Wisdom

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just at this moment realized that this book is book 2. I figured it was part of a series, but didn't realize that it wasn't the beginning. Anyway, I suppose all of that is beside the point.

On to the review.

For the most part I really like this book. I know Lili and Jared was going to be good together right from their first face to face meeting. The plot was really unexpected in a good way. I wasn't expecting Jared's circumstances to be what they were (trying no to give anything away). One thing is for sure this story will take you on a ride you will definitely enjoy and leave you wanting to more.

Before, I realized this is book 2, I would have said that this sets the pace for the rest of the series, but I have to assume (since I haven't read book 1) that it is keeping the pace going.

I for one can't wait to see what's in story for all of those wonderful secondary characters that were mentioned in this story.

What I didn't like (and it's only minor) was the constant reminders that she is a witch and he a demon. We already know what they are we didn't need it to be constantly repeated. Now mentioning what the others were when they were introduced, yes, but to keep telling me over and over info that I already makes me want to stop reading the story. I am glad in this case that I didn't because even with that it was well rest it.

I will definitely be going back for book 1 and reading any others that are produced for this series. I am even looking forward to Nurse Garrish getting her HEA.

Her Dark KnightHer Dark Knight by Sharon Cullen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book and the characters. Lainie and Christien were some of this best characters that I have gotten to know in a while.
The story settings is both the present and the past and the way they are interwoven in the story is seamless. It made me believe in reincarnation and immortality.
The ending probably won't be what you expect, but it leaves you wanting more and hoping for the best.
After reading it, I can't wait to see what more there is to the story.

I couldn't put it down, once I read the first sentence I was hooked. From chapter to chapter it had me wondering where Ms. Cullen was going with the story, what was going to happen to Lainie in the past and what does the future have in store? Those were the things that were going through my head the entire time.

I definitely recommended it.

Exclusively Yours

Exclusively Yours (Kowalski Family, #1)Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shannon Stacey has a fan for life. The first book I read was actually Undeniably Yours, not realizing at the time that it was part of the series. I was drawn to the Kowalski family and that book, so I went to her website and realized that there was a book before that one, which is actually this book. I loved Joe and Keri. I was smiling almost the entire time I was reading. The felt like a real family that I would love to hang out with. Ms. Stacey is amazing and I hope there is more to come from this clan.

Holiday Kisses

Holiday Kisses: A Holiday Romance CollectionHoliday Kisses: A Holiday Romance Collection by Shannon Stacey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holiday Kisses is one of the best holiday romances that I have read this season. It is rare indeed that I find an anthology where every story appeals to me. I usually end up not liking at least one story, but this one wasn't like that at all. I would be sitting there reading with a huge smile on my face or laughing out loud and every around me would want to know what was making me so happy (sappy, my husband says). I would quickly let them know going on and on about whichever story in the anthology that I was reading at the moment.

Not only were the primary characters for each story wonderful there were secondary character that I want to know about in each. Well, except for This Time Next Year by Alisson Kent (which was still good and the leading story in the book).

In Jaci Burton's a Rare Gift, I would love to see more of Tori and Brody story. This has to be a series and this part must have just been put in this book, because I felt that there was more to the story before we got Wyatt and Callie's story.

In HelenKay Dimon's It's Not Christmas Without You, I wanted to know more about Spence and Mitch. Hopefully there will be stories written about both guys, especially Spence who seems to be such a ladies man.

In Shannon Stacey's Mistletoe and Margaritas's I want to know more about Penny. Will she get her HEA?

Anyway, every story was special and put me in the mood for some holiday romance of my own.
