Run the Risk

Run the Risk (Love Undercover, #1)Run the Risk by Lori Foster
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been a fan of Lori's work for quite a while and she never ceases to amaze me. I loved this book, which you can probably tell from my first sentence. lol.

Anyway, I am a huge fan of romances with sexy alphas and confident heroines. This book had them both and laid the foundation for quite a few sequels.

Pepper finds herself having to basically hide out and while doing so she meets and has the hots for her sexy neighbor. All along not realizing that Logan has actually placed himself there because he knows who she is and is trying to use her to get her brother. And so the adventure and sexual antics begin...

I have to say that Lori did such a good job painting a picture of Pepper that I didn't know exactly what she was trying to downplay about herself until it was revealed. The entire time I kept trying to guess and was completely wrong. I had a wonderful time reading this and at the same time falling in love with all the characters involved.

I am hoping that everyone gets to have their own stories told. Anyway, it was fun and sexy read.

Reflected in you

Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2)Reflected in You by Sylvia Day
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A MUST READ!!!!

A book that makes me fall in love with Gideon and Eva all over again. I loved it.

It is one of those books that on an emotional level is so true to life. There are a ton of us out her scarred for whatever reason and carrying those things into new relationships.

Sylvia Day has written a story that takes us all inside of the lives of these emotionally fragile individuals and gives us an honest and often painful look at what its like to try to love after being abused.

All I can say is WOW. I am truly amazed. Also, the love scenes are amazing, but I love that this book would still be outstanding without them. It is enough for to peer into these characters lives and watch them try to make this thing work, while rooting for them along the way.

I have run the gamut of emotions from being upset to hot/bothered(thinks to the love scenes) to laughing to feeling pressure in my chest from the sadness.

I am going to be on pins and needles having to wait for what comes next. Please hurry that along Sylvia.

The Accidental Bride

The Accidental BrideThe Accidental Bride by Christina Skye
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked this story. Jilly, who went from foster home to foster home and grew up to have trust and abandonment issues. Walker, the rich kid who didn't want to follow in his father's footsteps. Can anyone say polar opposites. The thing is we go through the whole story not knowing much about Walker, just like Jilly so when you realize who he is you can understand why she feels the way she does considering how she grew up.

I think that I would have liked this story a little more if I was a big dog lover like these people seem to be because their pets are a big part of this story. Also if I would have started with the first book in what must be a series that includes Jilly friends I may have been more invested.

As it is it was still a pretty good read.

I actually loved the town more than I loved the story. I felt like that is the place and community that I would love to raise my children. I learned something new also about service dogs. I had no idea that they had animals trained to do those types of things.

When the duchess said yes

When the Duchess Said Yes (Wylder Sisters, #2)When the Duchess Said Yes by Isabella Bradford
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This story just didn't do it for me. In the beginning it was great it even had me laughing a times because of the misunderstanding between the soon to be married couple. In the end it just boiled down to me not liking these characters. I thought that he was selfish and I would have like her more had she picked one part of her personality and stuck with it. You see I didn't use names and that is because I honestly forgot his first name, I can't remember anyone using except for at the beginning of the book.

Shades of Temptation

Shades of Temptation (SIG, #2)Shades of Temptation by Virna DePaul
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW!!! Virna DePaul has done it again.

Actually I love this more than : Mac and Natalie's story in Book 1 Shades of Desire. She took this one to another level.
Although it could have been because I was anticipating Jase and Carrie's story since the first book. Just like I am looking forward to what is going to happen with Simon more than anyone else.

Jase and Carrie made the perfect team in and out of the bedroom. I went through every emotion that these two experienced while reading this book and didn't put it down until the last word.

All I can say is thank Ms. DePaul and keep'm coming.

Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed

Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed (Sons of Sin, #1)Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed by Anna Campbell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been sitting here trying to figure out what to say about this book. I liked it a lot for the most part. I say for the most part, because all of the back and forth with the Sidonie. She was attracted to this man and she went their to expressly have sex with him anyway, so why act one minute like you want him and the next like your morals are too high to sleep with him.

Now Jonas on the other hand. I loved him he stayed true to himself throughout the entire book. He was a man used to being alone and basically set in his ways until he fell in love with this woman. That was as it should be. Although I didn't like the way he treated her later, because the her "crime" wasn't that severe under the circumstances.

Anyway, I also liked that the subject of spousal abuse came up which it rarely does in these romances. I thought it was important because times were so different back then and we as women didn't have the rights that we do today, so nothing could be done.

All in all it was a good read and a good intro to the other Sons of Sin.

Never Seduce a Scot

Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1)Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. It wasn't as steamy as some of Maya's other novels, but it was definitely just as well written.
I sat here feeling every emotion that Eveline must have been feeling from the very beginning. The love she felt for her family and then Graeme, the shame, anger, disappointment that she felt when she realized exactly what was going on with his (Graeme's) clan members.

That being said she has to be one of the strongest and fiercest heroines that I have had the pleasure to read about in a long while. Eveline is the reason that I loved this story. Yes, I love Graeme and the way that he decided right away not to treat her badly because of her "condition" and because she was innocent from the things that her clan members had done, but Eveline stole the show for me.

I don't want to say to much and give the story away, but I don't want to say that it takes alot for people to try to love one another when there are so many against them, including their own beliefs. Reading this story was a pleasure and I hope to see more from both of the clans.

Love Unscripted

Love Unscripted (Love, #1)Love Unscripted by Tina Reber
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I actually read this review elsewhere, but it said exactly what I was thinking throughout. It is only a small portion of the review written on Goodreads by Katrina Dumsden.

"Now let's talk about how often these dunderheads laugh, chuckle, snicker, giggle, smirk, smile, and grin. Seemingly every sentence uttered ends on a laugh, giggle, or snicker. Ms. Reber couldn't even have the decency to throw in a good "chortle" just to mix things up. But the people in this book laugh so much one can't help wondering if maybe they're high. Or perhaps just simple in the head? At one point, Taryn and Ryan "both smirked and grinned" at each other. I hadn't realized those two things were separate and could be done simultaneously! Who knew?!"

Now that being said, I didn't hate this book, I actually like it quite a lot. I loved that Ryan and Taryn's relationship didn't start with sex on the brain. The a took the time to try to become friends first rather than immediately jumping into bed with one another. Also, it was completely believable that they would have trust issues after having bad relationships with other people. The people who hurt us tend to shape how we respond to others later.

The only other thing is that I thought the story was a bit long for a romance.

Hidden Paradise

Hidden ParadiseHidden Paradise by Janet Mullany
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked the idea of this book. The setting is my favorite because who wouldn't want to know a little bit about how it was to live in those times. Especially the fashion and all the dancing. It was definitely a more refined time than what we are living in now. I liked the characters okay I just wished that this one book didn't have all their stories in one. I would have loved to learn a little bit more about Lou's relationship with her deceased husband and why she was so in love with him in the first place. Then later why did she feel such a strong connection to Max when she only knew him for such a short period of time. I would have loved to see Rob and Di's relationship build up instead of one minute he's having sex with one women and the next he's with Di. I know he had a crush on her, but it would have been nice to their romance bloom. Also, why did his mother make the decisions that she made? I would have loved to hear all about Chris and Pete's love affair and how the got to know one another and also how they became so close to Lou and her deceased husband.

All that being said it was okay. It had some very hot love scenes, which I love, but it could have had more depth and maybe this could have been a series about all of the people involved in this endeavor, because I would have loved it much more that way.

NetGalley Arc Review: Where there's a Will

Where There's A WillWhere There's A Will by Karen Kelley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Where do they make people like Haley anymore. I don't think I have seen I heroine that had self esteem so low ever, she was a lot on the needy side. That being said I really enjoyed this book. Seeing her come out of her shell with Ryder was a real treat and it was very hot and steamy along the way.

Net Galley Arc Review: The Siren

The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1)The Siren by Tiffany Reisz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Background info: I was really getting into this book when I got to a part that sounded a little familiar and kept wondering why that would be when I have never read anything by Tiffany Reisz before this book. Well, I kept trying to figure it out and then I remembered that I read a book titled 7-day Loan but I had forgotten the authors name. Low and behold it was Tiffany Reisz.

On to the review: I love Nora and now knowing that she is the Eleanor that I fell in love with in 7-day Loan just makes me love her even more.
Why you ask did I only give it 4 stars, well that is because it was a little more hardcore than I am used to, but at the same time it was tastefully done. After I read 7-day I was rooting for Nora to be with Daniel, but that wasn't to be. Now in this book I wanted her to give up everything to be Wes one minute and Zach the next, anyone but the infamous Soren. Well you'll have to read to find out if I got my wish this time.

This book is a love story, but not a romance in the traditional sense. Zach and his love, Wes and his love, Nora and her love(s).

At different times I wanted to laugh, cry, or just throw the book across the room in frustration. I stayed up all night because I couldn't put it down and am getting ready to by the next installment. Those are the signs that I am enjoying what I am reading.

This is definitely worth the read.

To Romance a Charming Rogue

To Romance a Charming Rogue (Courtship Wars, #4)To Romance a Charming Rogue by Nicole Jordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been a fan of Nicole Jordan for a while, but for whatever reason I never got around to continuing on with this series. Now that I have decided to do just that I am glad this is where I needed to start.

I really liked this book, as you can see from the star rating. Damon and Eleanor has become one of my favorite couples. These two were so determined to not be together, even though it was obvious from the first scene they shared that they loved each other. That made the story a lot of fun to read. Another thing that I loved was the mystery behind who was trying to hurt the Prince. I hope that somewhere down the line we get to see how he fared in great detail. hint, hint. (If its not already written).

Anyway, this book is definitely worth the read. It's part of series, but it works well as a standalone, because she gives you just enough information about characters from the previous books to make you feel like you know them without giving away what happened in their stories.

Forever and a Day

Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor, #6)Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have ever read by Jill Shalvis, but you can best believe it will not be the last.

I loved this book. Every single thing about it. I was either smiling like an idiot, laughing, or fanning myself throughout this entire book. In my world that, and the fact I didn't want to put the book down to sleep or anything else, indicates that I absolutely enjoyed being apart of the world Jill Shalvis created. I want to go to Lucky Harbor right now.lol.

Grace and Josh were so wonderful together and she fit perfectly into his family. I loved seeing the way their romance blossomed. Ms. Shalvis you have a new fan.

Since I didn't start the series from the beginning, I will be going back to read from the beginning. I just bought Simply Irresistible and believe it or not it was on sale at amazon.com for 99 cent.

Anyway, if you are new to this series as I am, you will thoroughly enjoy this. Its okay to start here, but you will see mention of other relationships that started in other books. If you are anything like me you will want to go back to the beginning and savor the chance to work your way up to this.

Pleasures of a Tempted Lady

Pleasures of a Tempted Lady (Donovan Sisters, #3)Pleasures of a Tempted Lady by Jennifer Haymore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay, as you can see from my 3 star rating, I like this book. I would have given 5 stars but 1 was deducted because it took me longer than usual to read and the other deducted because it wasn't better than Olivia's story and Jessica didn't get her own book. Other than that I liked just fine.

The copy I read came from NetGalley I am sadly just finished it a few day ago. Anyway, on to my thoughts. I loved the fact the fact that William was so devoted and in love with Meg even after all the years that they were separated. Jennifer Haymore has a way of making her stories very true to life, even though this was eons ago. Who wouldn't understand that Meg would be a little standoffish from her loved ones after being away from them for so long. They all basically have to get to know each other all over again. I just wished that she would have tried harder from the beginning because knowing how much they missed her after reading the other books, I was looking forward to them finally being reunited.

I have loved Jessica from the the beginning, even though this story is mainly about Meg and William, she still has her love story(however brief) in this book. I wish that she would have had the opportunity to have her story told in her own book because she was my favorite of all the sisters. I also thought that the sisters should have brought their mother to task for what she did to both Meg and Serena.

Anyway, overall this was a great story, especially the scene where they finally defeat the villain.

Bound Temptations

Bound TemptationsBound Temptations by Shiloh Walker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book contains 2 short stories. First Tempt Me with Rocki and Cole and then Beg Me with Tania and Drake. Both women lost their husbands and found love again in unexpected places.

Rocki's husband died in the line of duty, and she has been struggling to move on with her life. In walks Cole with his fiance, but from the first moment these two meet sparks fly. They have to deal with a few problems, but in the end they find their way.

Tania loses her husband and then is later brutally attacked. She turns to Drake to help get her life back. They have to deal with a problem no one would have ever suspected, but they find love along the way.

If you have ever read Shiloh's books you know how steamy they can be and this was no exception. It is very hot without being forced. Loved it.

Goddess in the Middle

Goddess in the MiddleGoddess in the Middle by Stephanie Julian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have said it once and I will say it again I love Stephanie Julian's work. The only reason that this book didn't get 5 out of 5 is because it didn't have as much action outside the bedroom that How to Worship a Goddess had in it. That being said it still knocked my socks off.

I have been thinking of Amity as being the most innocent one of all the Forgotten Goddesses, but after this I will have to amend that just a little. In a lot of ways she is but when it comes to the bedroom antics she is just like you would expect someone to be after living for so long, no hangups about who she is in or out of the bedroom.

I loved the fact that the "most innocent" goddess is the one who fell in love with 2 men. I also love that Stephanie ends the book with enough info to leave the reader satisfied and at the same time anticipating what's to come.

Seducing the Heiress

Seducing the Heiress (Heiress in London, #1)Seducing the Heiress by Olivia Drake
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this book. Portia has got to be one of my favorite heroines to date. She was head strong and no one could stop her from doing what she wanted to do. Along comes Colin to put a damper in all of her plans and steal her heart in the process. I am already looking forward to reading the next book in this series and can't wait for Lindsey's story.

Anyway, I couldn't stand Edith Crompton or Lady Ratcliffe. I guess it was a sign of their time, because they were some very selfish women. I understand Mrs. Crompton wanting her daughter to marry well, but she really wasn't concerned at all about what was in Portia's best interest, just in her own. I can't wait to see how Lindsey and Blythe handle her when their times come. As for Lady Ratcliffe, well you will just have to read the story and then you will understand what I mean.

Against the Sun

Against the Sun (The Raines of Wind Canyon, #6)Against the Sun by Kat Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jake Cantrell is definitely my type of man. I love big strong alpha's and he fits that description all the way.
I am a self professed romance-aholic. I love my romance hot and steamy and it doesn't hurt to have a little bit of intrigue.

That being said, this book had all of the above. Jake and Sage were hot from their very first meeting and they hadn't even gotten to the sex. They have the kind of chemistry that just leaps off the pages at you. We owe that to Kat Martin's wonderful writing.

This is a romantic suspense and I am glad to say that for the first time in a long time, I had a hard time pinpointing the culprits in this story. As soon as I thought I knew what was really going on, I was thrown for a loop. This story was definitely multifaceted. There was a lot going on, but it was all seamlessly put together.

I didn't realize that this was a book in a series, because it read so well as a standalone. I will be going back to the beginning though to get the previous story and I will be impatiently waiting for the next.

Conquered by a Highlander

Conquered by a Highlander (Children Of The Mist, #4)Conquered by a Highlander by Paula Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I may have said this before, but I love Paula Quinn and especially anything to do with the children of the mist. P.Quinn can do no wrong in my book. I hope there is a book for Will and Finn in the works (let me know if it is already in print somewhere). I have loved every last highlander and the women they love in every book that I have had the pleasure of reading so far. This is no different.

I think this one is so good because I had a while to get to Colin before his story was told,so I was already anticipating what was to come. I was not disappointed in the least. All of the women in P.Quinn's novels are strong and independent and I love that about them. They are the kind of women I strive to be and definitely the kind that these men need. They would definitely get bored with some simpering miss. For Colin this strong woman came in the form of single mother Gillian.

Had Gillian continued to live the life she was born into she may not have become the women for Colin, but circumstances lead her to become a powerful lioness protecting her cub. These two are a matched made in heaven.

Shades of Desire

Shades of DesireShades of Desire by Virna DePaul
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love this book. I couldn't help but put myself in Natalie's position. I kept wondering if I would be as strong if I was in a similar situation. I believe my answer would be no. I love that they made mistakes along the way with dealing with each other, that made it seem more realistic.

I always love when you get experience what's going on in the minds of more than just the hero and heroine and Ms. DePaul did that effortlessly. I got to experience this journey through everyone's point of view and that made the who book more enjoyable.

I am hoping to hear more from SIG members and also hope that Melissa gets a happy ending also.

Lethal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #3)Lethal Rider by Larissa Ione
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I like this book a lot. I haven't read the other two books in this series, but I have read Larissa's books that are set in this same world. I think it the Demonica series. Those were all really good. I got this title through NetGalley and I am glad that I did. I loved Than. It very rare that you find a man or being as virile as he is innocent in the sex department. That alone endeared him to me and the fact that you could tell that he loved Regan even when he claimed to want to kill her. I will definitely be going back to the other books and any other that comes after this one.

A Hunger so Wild

A Hunger So Wild (Renegade Angels, #2)A Hunger So Wild by Sylvia Day
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I have been waiting for Elijah and Vash's story since A Touch of Crimson and it was really hot. I can't wait to see what happens in this series.

I knew these two were meant to be the moment that the were on the same page together in A Touch of Crimson and I have been waiting as patiently as possible to see how their romance was going to unfurl. I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. Sylvia Day is one of the most talented writers in the game right now as attested to the fact that I am also currently waiting for the next book in her Crossfire series also.

Aside from the romance it answered a lot of questions that were left unanswered and left more questions to keep you wondering until the next book. I can't wait to see who the culprits are and how both sides are going to handle it.

Consent to LoveConsent to Love by Abby Wood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had never heard of Abby Wood until I read this book. I am glad that I know of her now. I enjoyed this book very much, when at first I thought I was going to hate or at least dislike it. When first meeting Ana I thought she was a push over and very naive. I thought Kane was a hypocrite. I was about to put it down and wash my hands with it. I am gladed that I stuck with it.

There has never been two people who belong together more. Kane and Ana were two halves of a whole. I loved that they finally opened up to how they were both feeling. It felt like I could actually feel their emotions right along with them. I felt the same way for the authors description of the love scenes.

When I finished I was hoping there was more. I am going to be looking for more stories by this very talented author in the future,

The White Swan Affair

The White Swan AffairThe White Swan Affair by Elyse Mady
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really wanted to love this story. I tried very hard. It had the perfect plot and it dealt with an issue(sodomy) that I have never seen another book quite this way. The way everyone treated Hester after Robert's arrest seemed true to form for that period of time. I loved Thomas and how he stuck by her through it all. The thing that kept me from loving it was Robert. He was a judgemental jerk of the first water. Whenever there was a scene in the book with him in it, especially while dealing with Hester, I wanted to skip ahead. I hated the way he treated her and talked down to her. She would never have been in the situation she was in if it wasn't for him.

Anyway, all that being said I didn't love it, but overall I thought it was very well written and maybe the way I felt about Robert at times is the way the author intended readers to fill. All I can say is you will have to read it for your self and see how it make you feel. The fact that I feel so strongly about his behavior in anyway lets me know that I will be reading future works by this author.

I know that my statements seem to contradict one another, but I enjoy reading books that make me feel passionately about something rather in a good way or bad. It means the writer is doing their job.

Just Like Heaven

Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet, #1)Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn

Ms. Quinn has done it again. I have loved her books since my boss gave me a copy of one of her books about 7 or 8 years ago. To my utter relief she hasn't disappointed me yet. This book was funny and very sweet. I loved the whole premise and I loved all the characters, so I can't wait for the next book(s) in the series.

I was hooked from the very first page and didn't stop until I was done. Rather you or new to this genre or you are an old fan, this book is book is a wonderful place to start or just make you fall in love with the genre and the author all over again.

Ruined by Rumor

Ruined by RumorRuined by Rumor by Alyssa Everett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was full of humor and eventually real romance. It had me wanting to pull my hair out of my head at times, but in a good way.

We all know that most romances are full of misunderstandings, but this one was full of them. (Again in a good way) The reason I am saying in a good way is because I think that the misunderstandings were pretty unique. Yes, they would talk to one another to explain, but each person drew their own conclusions instead of asking for clarification. Alex has to be one of the most serious heroes that I have read about in a while and for a minute I thought they would never say what drove him to act that way, but alas they did. I absolutely loved him and Roxana together.

The only reason I am giving this story a 4 instead of 5 is because the part of the plot concerning George was pretty predictable. I guessed right away what was going on with him.

I know I am probably making no sense whatsoever, but this book is definitely worth the time it takes to read.

I only have eyes for you

I Only Have Eyes for You (The Sullivan's, #4)I Only Have Eyes for You by Bella Andre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have always like Bella Andre because she gives the right amount of romance with the right amount of hot, steamy, sex.
I really like liked this story because I could tell right away that the characters loved each other, even though Sophie had no clue how Jake felt about her. The thing is Ms. Andre let the readers know early how he felt and partly why he didn't want to pursue a relationship with her. I was so glad to see Sophie take some initiative and go after what she wanted.

The thing that kept me from giving this story 5 stars was its predictability. I pretty much knew what was going to happen from the first time these two hit the sheets, well even before then. There was really no anticipation of whats to come because I guessed it all before I got to it. That being said it was still an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to going back and reading the Sullivan series from the beginning and finding out what is going to happen with the rest of the clan.

Gentleman Says

A Gentleman Says A Gentleman Says "I Do" by Amelia Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read this a few weeks ago and thought that I had already written a review, but I see that I was wrong.
I loved Catalina and Iverson. I am a romance lover, especially historical romance. It is something about that times that draws me, even though I wouldn't trade the freedom that we women have today for nothing in the world. I would like to think that if I were living in that time Catalina is the woman I would like to emulate. She was intelligent, beautiful, and considering the time she lived in, very independent.
Iverson was the perfect man for her to fall in love with, and she the perfect woman for him. Anyone else would have bored them both to tears. When you have someone as headstrong as Catalina you definitely need a man who can stand up and match wits and intelligence with her, but someone who also allows her to be herself and love her for it and vice versa.

I didn't know that the book was part of a series until I started reading, but I am looking forward to going back to the first book and continuing on with the next. I am waiting with bated breath for Matson's story and to see what happens next in the Brentwood's lives.

Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict

Confessions of a Jane Austen AddictConfessions of a Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked this book. Was it a book that I felt urgent to read? No, but it was still entertaining. The first thing I thought when I started reading was that I wished they would have shown Courtney in her natural habitat before she was thrust into Jane's world. I would have liked to known who she really was before she woke up in the past.

I also thought that it would have been better had she been in Jane's body, but mainly remained herself without the skills that Jane had such as embroidery and dancing. I also wished that the ending would have given more closure. Was Jane or Courtney Edgeworth's wife? I assumed that it was Jane, but for all I know Courtney could have completely been integrated with Jane's memories and forgot her own.

Despite all that I still gave it 3 stars because it was still rather funny at moments.

Where there's Smoke

Where There's SmokeWhere There's Smoke by Karen Kelley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this book. I have read plenty of paranormals about angels and demons, but I don't remember reading one quite like this one. Destiny had it so hard in her life as a human that it's easy to understand why she chose the path that she did. This book is all about love and 2nd chances and it is hot, hot, hot.

The thing that i liked the most are the character names, Destiny and Chance. She was his destiny and he gave her a chance at a better existence.

All I can say is it is definitely worth the time to read and I can't wait for the other guys stories.

Improper Relations

Improper RelationsImproper Relations by Juliana Ross
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked the this erotic novella. Hannah is definitely a woman of her times, not a virgin (since she was married), but still very much an innocent. In those times woman were taught that having sex was a duty, not something that is enjoyable to women.

Along comes Leo and shatters this belief, showing her what relations between a man and woman can really be like.

The only thing that I wish is that when the time came she would have told that witch Aunt Augusta a piece of her mind.

Bared to You

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1)Bared to You by Sylvia Day
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

1st I want to say that I loved this book. I could barely make myself put it down when I had to do other things like sleep. Sylvia Day has really wrote a book that I feel is really profound. It's the most real and raw look into these people's lives.

I feel like they could be anyone that I know and that is what made me love it.

I also loved the fact that it didn't shy away from the physical and emotional abuse that Gideon and Eva went through. Also, that they have the most honest relationship that I have every seen or read about. They are both upfront about the insecurities that they have and that is rare in fiction as well as life. I can't wait to see how this is going to play out.

Tempted by her Innocent Kiss

Tempted by Her Innocent KissTempted by Her Innocent Kiss by Maya Banks

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked this book, which is no surprise because I have enjoyed all of Maya Banks books so far. I also loved that there is a story by Brenda Jackson at the end. At least in the copy that I read.

Tempted is the 3rd book in the Pregnancy & Passion series. It was so nice to finally see Devon's love story. I like him and Ashley together a lot. You can tell from the very beginning that he loves her, because actions speaks louder than words. He is just to busy worrying about how and why they got together instead of what he feels about her now.

I loved that Maya Banks made Ashley confident, smart, and kindhearted. Devon would have never been able to fall in love with her otherwise.

Secrets of an Accidental Duchess

Secrets of an Accidental Duchess (Donovan Sisters, #2)Secrets of an Accidental Duchess by Jennifer Haymore

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I started reading this book about a month ago, but that's not really true. I was planning to start reading it a month ago, but other books got in the way. Now I hate that I put it off so long. I actually started it(for real this time)the day before yesterday.

When I first started reading this book I didn't know that it was part of a series. I now have to go back and read the one before this one.

I loved this story. It had enough drama and romance to make any reader want to give it a go. It also had one of the vilest villains that I have ever seen in a historical romance. I also loved that it dealt with an issue that I have never seen approached in any other historical romance that I have ever read. I don't want to give it away, but it was definitely going on at the time and still is today.

Jennifer Haymore is now an author that I will assuredly be reading from this moment on.

How to Woo a Reluctant Lady

How to Woo a Reluctant Lady (Hellions of Halstead Hall, #3)How to Woo a Reluctant Lady by Sabrina Jeffries

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am a huge Sabrina Jeffries fan. She always does such a fantastic job on her books that I am always waiting with bated breath for the next. This book is no exception.

I have love all of the Hellions since the very beginning and am so glad that this particular one(Lady Minerva Sharpe) ended up with Giles Masters. These two are a match made in Heaven, but isn't it always that way with Sabrina books. She knows exactly which characters have the most chemistry and how to make their coming together believable and not forced. I love the fact that she never changes them to fit each other they just get to be who we fell in love with when we first "met" them.

I am probably a terrible reviewer because it is hard for me to review a book without giving too much away, so I will say if you haven't already start from the first book in the series, The Truth about Lord Stoneville, and continue on from there.

If you are a fan you will love to get a little glimpse of some characters from the past. Another thing I love about her books, it is believable that these events are really happened because she incorporates the characters from her previous series when the events are going on in the same time period.

Read the book(s) you will not regret it.

Simply Sexual (House of Pleasure book 1)

Simply SexualSimply Sexual by Kate Pearce

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As you can see from the 5 stars, I loved this book. Sometimes you find an erotic book that has to much sex in places that you feel sex should not be. Well not this book the sex was believable and it didn't feel forced. Especially after knowing our hero Valentin's background. I am always saying that the hero has met his match, and I will say it again in this instant also. They were perfectly matched. Sara had the right amount of sexual curiosity and intelligence to make her Val's equal in every way in and outside of the bedroom.

One thing is for sure while I was reading the book the descriptions, which very detailed when needed, definitely gave me some ideas.

If you love hot, steamy, or just plain erotic you will love this book. Kate Pearce is superb, and as I said in another review about a story she wrote, I will definitely be coming back for more.

Lords of Passion

Lords of PassionLords of Passion by Virginia Henley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am usually all over historical romance, but this book left something to be desired. First of all it's an anthology, so not all the stories are bad. Well, none of them are really bad, or else I would have stopped reading, just not to my liking.

There are 3 stories in this book: Beauty and the Brute by Virginia Henley, How to Seduce a Wife by Kate Pearce, and Not Quite a Courtesan by Maggie Robinson.

I will just say that my favorite out of the 3 was How to Seduce a Wife by Kate Pearce. This is the first book I have read by either author and for this one at least it will not be my last. As a matter of fact the next book that I will be talking about will be another by Ms. Pearce.

Anyway, I loved this story. It was hot, steamy, and romantic. I loved that Louisa was so outspoken and let her man know that he was not pleasing her in bed. Not many women then or even today or bold enough to do that. Rather you like the book or not it is worth it just to read this story alone.

My next fav is Not Quite a Courtesan by Maggie Robinson. It wasn't as steamy but it was still good. Prudence is so much like what you expect a proper English girl to be like, but it was wonderful to see her come out of her shell.

My least fav of course is Beauty and the Brute by Virginia Henley. Sorry Henley fans but this just didn't do it for me. It had nothing at all to do with the plot, that was actually okay. I loved the premise of the story, but it was the wording or something that I just can't put my hands on that I didn't like. I also hated the fact that Charles didn't pay Sarah any attention until he notice how beautiful she had become and then instantly it was love. I was hoping that something would make her less attractive in his eyes so that he could proved that he loved her for more than her beauty.

I will not be reading anymore books by this author, unless someone recommends something by her that doesn't sound anything like I just described.

I am giving this 4/5 stars just because the other two stories are worth the time and effort to read this book. As to the other you will have to judge for yourself.

How to Dance with a Duke

How to Dance with a Duke (Ugly Ducklings, #1)How to Dance with a Duke by Manda Collins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lucas and Cecily are my new favorite romance novel couple. I loved that Cecily was so intelligent and independent and Lucas didn't try to change her in any way, just accepted her for who she was. I have to say that this is the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms. Collins, but it will not be my last. Once I finished I wanted more and more. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for How to Romance a Rake.

This book is romantic with a capital R and is has just enough mystery to make it unique and intriguing without overshadowing the romantic elements. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Just reading the little teaser in the back of the book has be counting the days until I am able to read Juliet's story. (Cecily's cousin)

A must read. You will not regret it.

Lord of Pleasure

Lord of Pleasure (School of Gallantry #2)Lord of Pleasure by Delilah Marvelle

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this. It was funny and romantic. I can't wait to read more books in this series. I loved the fact that with the edition of this book you kind of get a behind the scenes look of Mistress of Pleasure which was the first book.

All I can say is Ms. Marvelle has done it again and I for one am ready for more.

Caleb

Caleb (Shadow Wranglers, #1)Caleb by Sarah McCarty

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It was very erotic, so if you are not into that sort of thing then you may not, but the sex didn't feel forced. It fit right it with the plot.

What I liked most was how human the story felt even though it is about the paranormal. Mainly vamp and weres. I loved that there is a group of paranormal beings who don't have all of the answers to the things that are going on around them. That is what made it feel like it was about regular humans instead of paranormal beings.

Most of the time when I read a paranormal romance of any sort the vamps, weres, etc... are never unsure of themselves and are usually more confident about the things going on around them. In this book you will find vamps and weres who are very close to their humanity. Especially Caleb, who is everything you want in an alpha male. Strong and dependable with a little bit of vulnerability thrown in for good measure.

Mistress of Pleasure

Mistress of Pleasure (School of Gallantry #1)Mistress of Pleasure by Delilah Marvelle

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it. I don't know if I have ever read a historical romance that was exactly like this one and I must say that I loved every minute of it. It was hot and steamy and very funny. I am currently reading Lord of Pleasure and it is promising to be just as great. It just goes to show that falling in love, even when you are not trying to can be fun and sexy.

Running Wild

Running Wild (Wild, #1-3)Running Wild by Sarah McCarty

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book. You get three sexy men all in one book. I am a paranormal fanatic and everyone has there idea of what any paranormal being can do. Some the same, some different. I loved that these wolves could heal with their saliva (hope that's not giving away too much). I don't think that I have ever seen another author have that particular characteristic with there weres.

All of the stories seamlessly fit together and every mated pair fit together just as well. My favorite pairing was Donovan and Lisa, because their personalities were the truest fit (I need to find another word, lol) to me. She was the exact yin to his yang.

All of the love scenes were hot and steamy and were definitely realistic. I felt like a voyeur when they were together ( which I loved). The all had me fanning myself.

Ruthless

Ruthless (The House of Rohan, #1)Ruthless by Anne Stuart

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I got my first taste of Anne Stuarts work form a little short story titled "The Wicked House of Rohan." I later found out that that story was the prequel to the series that this book starts. I went to her website to see what other books she had written (had never heard of her before) and was immediately happy that there was more to the story. This book is outstanding. I loved Elinor, Francis, Charles, and Lydia. Most of all I loved Francis, Viscount Rohan. He is definitely alpha and when he wants something he goes after it and gets it. Elinor is the perfect woman for him, because she provides the challenge that his jaded life so sorely needed, plus she is the only one to truly stand up to him besides his friend Charles and his housekeeper Mrs. Clarke.

You will really enjoy watching these two couples fall in love, mainly Francis and Elinor, but you get a taste of Lydia and Charles also.

If you are the faint of heart, you best lay back and get comfortable, because this story is absolutely smoking hot, if you know what I mean.

Triangles

TrianglesTriangles by Ellen Hopkins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

At first I thought I wasn't going to like this book. I opened to the first page and thought, " I don't want to read of book of poems." That is what it looks like when you open it like it is going to be a book of poetry, even though you made have read or heard what it is about you will be a little confused by the layout. At least I was. Once I started reading it though I couldn't put it didn't. I can't really say what hooked me, because I didn't really sympathize with any of the women in the story. I guess it must have been all of the drama in their lives and the lives of their families, and believe me there was plenty all the way around.

All I can really say is to just give the book a try and see if it is your cup of tea.
I read a lot of reviews that said this book was really sexually graphic, but I guess my idea of graphic sex and theirs are really different, because I didn't see that at all. I believe that I read somewhere that the author usually writes young adult and this is her first foray into this type of book. Well, you really wouldn't know it by reading this, and yes their is sex mentioned, but so graphic that it would make anyone blush.

It's basically just the lives of these women, who all need some self healing and prayer. Looking for someone is else to validate them instead of realizing that they are wonderful just the way the are, with or without the men in their lives.

Cloudy with a Chance of Marriage

Cloudy With A Chance Of Marriage (Impossible Bachelors, #3)Cloudy With A Chance Of Marriage by Kieran Kramer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another Impossible Bachelor bites the dust. I loved this book. I love Kieran Kramer. All of her books that I have had the pleasure of reading or full of romance and are laugh out loud funny. She always finds the perfect hero for her heroines and vice versa. Of course in this series you get to know the guys first, because they were all in previous books, but she manages to weave the story in such a way that they stay true to themselves and find the women who loves and challenges them. Which I must add is very important for an Impossible Bachelor, because they were not looking to get married in the first place.

I will be reading the next book in this series very shortly, I have already read the first two chapter which are found in the back of this book. I can't wait to see Lumley get what's coming to him. The next book is If you give a Girl a Viscount and it promises to be just as funny and romantic as it's predecessors.

CreepCreep by Jennifer Hillier

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book. Creep is a debut novel by Jennifer Hillier, but it really doesn't feel like this was her first.

One of the things that I loved is that you got everyone's point of view, without it being confusing. By the end you have gotten to know all of the major characters and their motivations, this is including the villain, which was really refreshing.
I say that it's refreshing because you don't get the info from a third person point of view, you actually get it from the characters point of view, because everyone tells their own story.

It is hard for me to come up with the right words to really describe a book without giving away what's going to happen, but I can see that you will never regret picking this book up. All I could think at the end is I hope Ms. Hillier plans to give us more.

The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman

I am not one of those people who have a way with words, so I want be able to describe this book to you and do it justice. All I know is I couldn't put it down. Of course there were points that I had to, but whenever there was a spare moment I picked it back up.

I absolutely loved this story. It had all the elements that make up an everyday life, all the ups and downs that go along with it. It wasn't just about the people, but the town and the mountains surrounding it.

It was the first book that I had the pleasure of reading by Alice Hoffman and I thoroughly enjoyed every word.

Two Little Girls In Blue by Mary Higgins Clark

I like a good mystery like most people, but I really didn't think I was going to like this one at first. It wasn't because of the plot, because that was fantastic, it was because of the jumping around with the points of view. I had to really pay close attention to realize at first what was going on and who's point of view I was getting. Besides that though this was a really wonderful mystery.

What I loved was that because of one crime several others came to light from people that you least expected, so that the story become a mystery inside a mystery.

In the end I loved the book and would definitely recommend it for those of you who like a slower paced mystery.

The Courage to Love

The Courage to Love (Brothers in Arms, #1)The Courage to Love by Samantha Kane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was a little confused in the beginning what time period this story was set in and then it seemed like the author kept jumping from character to another. Like I said I was confused, but that was only in the beginning.
After the first chapter everything started to make sense and I started to enjoy the story. The story is highly erotic and also very heartwarming and funny. I know it seems like those description probably shouldn't go hand in hand, but they fit.

The love that the heroes and heroine have for one another is very touching and the hot sex is just an added bonus.

If you don't like erotic romance then of course this isn't for you, but if you do this is definitely worth reading. Once I got past chapter 1 I couldn't put it down and I am looking forward to reading the remainder of this series.
