Bared to You

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1)Bared to You by Sylvia Day
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

1st I want to say that I loved this book. I could barely make myself put it down when I had to do other things like sleep. Sylvia Day has really wrote a book that I feel is really profound. It's the most real and raw look into these people's lives.

I feel like they could be anyone that I know and that is what made me love it.

I also loved the fact that it didn't shy away from the physical and emotional abuse that Gideon and Eva went through. Also, that they have the most honest relationship that I have every seen or read about. They are both upfront about the insecurities that they have and that is rare in fiction as well as life. I can't wait to see how this is going to play out.

I liked it!!! Well done! The writing resembles a seasoned author's work. And hurrah - hurrah, there were none of those repetitive "inner goddess" phrases appearing on every other page! And the lead characters presented a much more mature and knowledgeable persona. Between "Fifty Shades" and this one, I would choose this one without a doubt.

I admit I don't frequently read this type of book. But as I once again stepped over the boundaries (which equals curiosity got the best of me), I was immediately drawn into this intensely obsessive tale (told from Eva's POV in first person) and totally captured and intrigued from beginning to ending.

I won't bother repeating the plot summary since it has been covered very well by other reviewers. Suffice it to say that this one will add an extra dose of spice to the reading list. Gideon and Eva certainly provide just that and wonderfully so. Their story is compelling, moving and hypnotic. Although sad and hurtful in many ways, there is magic in their newly-found relationship. And certainly enough steamy hot sexual encounters, both in and out of the bedroom, to keep a reader's heart rate in overdrive. Although both characters are strong-willed and intelligent, as well as beautiful individuals, they each carry heavy burdens with troubled pasts. The road to happily-ever-after may be a bit bumpy for these two.

This is my first Sylvia Day book but it certainly won't be my last! Wow! I wasn't quite ready for the "short-changed" ending that left this reader begging for more. And October is a long way off before we get another peek at Gideon and Eva, as well as an interesting secondary cast.
