Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I had a hard time staying interested in the beginning, so that is why this story has a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star ratiing. I don't really know why,but I did. That being said once I got past the first 20 to 25% I had a hard time putting it down. There is so much I am looking forward to finding out in this series. I love the fact that she is one of those authors who manages to give the main hero and heroine of this story some closure, but at the same time leaving us all wondering what is going to happen next in the series. In other words I didn't feel cheated and I am still looking forward to more.

Reinventing Mona by Jennifer Coburn
Reinventing Mona by Jennifer Coburn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Here we meet Mona. A woman with the scars from a childhood tragedy lingering over her lifes choices, who has come to the point in her life were she feels she needs a change. We all go through this at some point in our lives, but how many of us are brave enough to go out and get what we want? Or what we thank we want?
Now don't think just because I mentioned childhood tragedy this is a drama, because if you think that you will be sadly mistaken.
Mona decided she wanted to change and knew she wanted and went about getting it. From that point on the hilarity ensues. You will definitely want to go along for the roller coaster ride that Mona takes trying to figure out if what she thought she wanted is what she actually wanted or needed.

Vision in White by Nora Roberts.
Vision in White by Nora Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I couldn't stand Mac's mother Linda. I love the fact that Carter acknowledged his love for her first. I guess because we always want the guy to say I love you first
Things I love.
1. In this quartet I am glad that Mac's story is first because from what I can tell she is the most emotionally stunted out of the four friends.
2. I love that Carter was so responsible and loving towards Mac and a little geeky. We don't see enough guys like that in romances.
3. That it was very truthful about the way our parents shape us. How our environment has a lot to do with how we turn out rather we choose to be the same or do the
opposite.
4. Mac and Carter together, and how up front they were with one another, so often there are so many games played in relationships that it creates a lot of confusion for
all envolved.
5. I loved the relationship between the 4 friends: Mac, Parker, Emma, and Laurel. They all had each other's backs.
Things I disliked.
1. Mac's mother Linda
2. The fact that Mac enable Linda to treat her the way she did.
3. Some of the language used seemes like the book were about teens instead of adults at times, but maybe they were just very young adults or I am just not used to that
type of lingo. (Guess not since I actually used lingo.)

All that being said, I love Nora Roberts' books, but this one didn't exactly live up to her standard for me. Still it is worth the read so I gave it 4 out of 5.

How to Abduct a Highland Lord by Karen Hawkins
How to Abduct a Highland Lord by Karen Hawkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I had been looking forward reading more about the MacLeans ever since I read Much Ado about Marriage. This didn't disappoint.
Fiona is one of the feistiest romance heroine I have read since reading the previous story with her ancestor Fia. Fiona does have one up on Fia since she is part of the famous or infamous MacLean Curse. That means that when her emotions are running high it affects the weather.
Jake is one one those alpha males who doesn't want to give up life as they knew before they got married, but in his case you can understand why. I loved the chemistry between these two rather they were making love or having a row.
When Jake and Fiona are together you know they are meant to be and I can't wait to see what is going to take place with the rest of the MacLeans.

A Discovery of Witches By Deborah Harkness
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this novel. It absolutely had me hooked from the first to the last word. I kept getting impatient to find out what was going to happen next in this saga. It was amazing and I am going to start book number 2 in a couple of days. I was on pins and needles throughout the entire book and still am waiting to see what will happen next in Diana and Matthews story.
I can't say much without giving it all away, but this book was a great beginning to what I know is going to be an outstanding trilogy(?). At least I hope it doesn't keep me in suspense much longer than that.
It is full of all the being that we paranormal lovers love: Witches, Vampire, Demon (no weres of yet), but it is also very well written. With all of the historical moments mentioned it made the story seem so real and I can't wait to see everything that will transpire mainly between Diana and Matthew, but also with the rest of the gang.
This is a must read!!!

Candy Kisses by Jade Buchanan
Candy Kisses by Jade Buchanan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I really wanted to like this book more. I tried really hard. I loved the fact that the author wrote 2 versions of the same story so you really get the best of both worlds.
The Good: The sex scenes were really scorching
The Bad: I felt like these were teen instead of adults from the way that they spoke to one another.

Reading Challenges
It's that time again and I must admit I didn't do that great last year.

I found some wonderful challenges this year and they are on on Goodreads.com. I believe there is a link to them on the page.
A list of challenges I am attempting:

2013 Just for Fun Reading Challenge (Goal 12 Books) is just as the name says just for fun. You read 1 book every month just for fun. You don't have to review it unless you want to.
Cover to Cover Challenge (Goal 100 Books)Interested in reading a certain number of books in 2013? Cover to Cover Challenge is all about choosing your reading target for 2013 and feeling free to up or reduce your goal any time. In addition, week-long read-a-thons are held every two months.
Romance Readers Reading Challenges (RRRC): If you love to read romance novels, or just read, and you like reading challenges, come and join this group. If you look at your TBR list and don't know which book to start with, worry no more. We will give you a reason to.
We have a variety of reading challenges, monthly book recommendations, buddy reads, book-and non-book-related discussions, author interviews/giveaways and plenty of fun and games to keep you entertain while hanging out with a bunch of people that love to read and talk about books.

Much Ado about Marriage by Karen Hawkins
Much Ado About Marriage by Karen Hawkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I bow down to Ms. Karen Hawkins. I can't remember the last time I actually started a book and didn't stop until the end. I was totally engrossed from start to finish.
From the moment Fia knocked Thomas off the window ledge I was hooked. I love everything about the story from our hero and heroine, who I just mentioned, to the secondary characters(Duncan, Robert, and Mary). Most of the time I sat around with a goofy grin on my face when I wasn't laughing out loud. When I am reading with the "goofy grin" you know the book is good, but if I am laughing out loud it is amazing.
On this site it says that this book is #6 in the MacLean Curse series when actually it is a prequel to the MacLean Curse and Hurst Amulet series. I have not had the pleasure as of yet to read a book in either series, but I plan to remedy that today. After reading this I have to know more about the characters in this world and just have to have more of Karen Hawkins work. That woman is really talented.
